What Singtel CAST is

CAST is Singtel's digital platform for entertainment and sports subscriptions. It can be used on supported phones, tablets, televisions and desktop browsers, allowing viewers to move between a small screen and the living-room television. The exact channels, apps and sports packages depend on the product selected, so always read the current package description before paying.

The advantage of CAST is flexibility. Some viewers use it as a mobile app, others use a Samsung or Android TV app, and some cast from a phone to a television. The setup method should match the device officially supported by the selected service.

Compatibility first: Singtel publishes a supported-device list. A television brand alone is not enough; model, operating system and software version also matter.

Create an account and choose a package

  1. Visit the official CAST website.
  2. Create or sign in to the correct CAST account.
  3. Choose the required entertainment or sports package.
  4. Review the price, billing period, cancellation rules and device limits.
  5. Complete payment through an available method.
  6. Wait for the entitlement to appear before opening the app on every device.

Some packages can be purchased by users who are not Singtel mobile customers, while other offers may be linked to Singtel billing or services. Do not assume that every bundle has the same eligibility.

Set up CAST on a Samsung Smart TV

  1. Connect the Samsung TV to the internet.
  2. Install the latest television software.
  3. Open Apps from the Home screen.
  4. Search for CAST.
  5. Install the official Singtel CAST app if it is listed for the model.
  6. Open the app and follow the sign-in instructions.

Samsung Singapore lists CAST as a local Smart TV app on selected models. If the app is not visible, check the Samsung account region and television compatibility before changing settings. Using a supported external device is safer than downloading an unknown installation file.

Set up CAST on Android TV or Google TV

On a compatible Android TV or Google TV device, open Google Play, search for the official CAST app and install it. Keep enough storage free and update the television software. If the device is an older box with limited memory, close unused apps and restart it before live viewing.

  1. Open Google Play on the television.
  2. Search for Singtel CAST.
  3. Install the official application.
  4. Sign in with the account that owns the subscription.
  5. Test both on-demand and live playback.

Apple TV setup

Singtel documentation lists Apple TV among supported options for CAST. Install the application from the official App Store, sign in and confirm that the correct subscription appears. Update tvOS before a major event and check audio output if a soundbar is connected.

Mobile setup on iPhone, iPad and Android

  1. Download the official CAST app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
  2. Open the app and sign in.
  3. Allow only the permissions needed for playback, notifications and casting.
  4. Test a programme over home Wi-Fi.
  5. Check mobile-data settings before watching away from home.

Live video can consume several gigabytes, particularly at high quality. Use Auto quality on mobile data and download eligible on-demand programmes over Wi-Fi when the package supports offline viewing.

How to cast to a television

Chromecast

Connect the Android phone and Chromecast or compatible TV to the same Wi-Fi network. Open CAST, start the programme and select the supported cast icon. Choose the receiving device and allow playback to begin.

AirPlay

Connect the Apple device and Apple TV to the same Wi-Fi network. Open the CAST app, use the supported AirPlay control and select the television. Keep both devices awake until the connection starts.

Do not confuse casting with screen mirroring. Singtel notes that generic direct mirroring may be blocked for protected content. Use the playback method supported inside the official application.

Watching in a desktop browser

Open the official CAST viewing site in a current supported browser. Sign in and disable only extensions that are clearly interfering with playback. Privacy extensions, script blockers or strict cookie settings can sometimes prevent account verification or video loading.

  • Keep Chrome, Safari or the supported browser updated.
  • Allow protected media when the browser requests it.
  • Connect the laptop charger for a full match or film.
  • Use HDMI to connect the laptop to a television when permitted.

Packages, channels and sports access

CAST offers different products, including entertainment, sports and event passes. The catalogue and prices change, and a CAST account does not automatically unlock every service. Check whether the package is recurring, one-time or contract-based. Confirm simultaneous-stream and device-registration limits before sharing an account across a household.

For football and other sports, use our Singapore live football guide. It explains how to compare current official options without assuming that one service owns every competition.

Common CAST problems

The subscription is active but content is locked

  • Confirm the correct CAST account is signed in.
  • Check the package activation email or account page.
  • Sign out, restart the app and sign in again.
  • Allow time for a new purchase to appear.

The TV app is unavailable

Check the official compatible-device list. If the model is unsupported, use a supported phone, browser, Apple TV, Android TV or casting method. Do not install modified application files.

Cast icon does not appear

  • Put both devices on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Disable guest-network isolation.
  • Restart the router, phone and receiving device.
  • Allow local-network permission on iPhone or iPad.

Video quality changes repeatedly

The player may be adapting to unstable bandwidth. Move closer to the router, use Ethernet on the TV device, pause downloads and select a lower fixed quality only if Auto cannot remain stable.

Audio and video are out of sync

Test the TV speakers before adjusting app settings. Bluetooth audio can add latency. Restart the app and television, then use an HDMI soundbar or the built-in speakers to isolate the cause.

Home-network recommendations

  • Use Ethernet for a fixed television or streaming box where possible.
  • Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi when the device is close to the router.
  • Keep mesh nodes in open positions with strong links between them.
  • Pause console updates and large backups during live viewing.
  • Restart equipment before a major event, not during it.

Follow the complete steps in our Singapore Wi-Fi buffering guide.

Account and security checklist

  • Use the official CAST website and app stores.
  • Do not share one-time passwords.
  • Review recurring subscriptions regularly.
  • Remove old devices from the account where the service allows it.
  • Sign out on hotel, shared or sold devices.
